Remove Hot Spares on the Enterprise 450 DNCS
Removing Hot Spares
Follow this procedure to temporarily disable the hot spare function of the Enterprise
450 DNCS. The hot spare function refers to the capability of the Enterprise 450 DNCS
to automatically replace a failed mirrored disk.
Important: Complete this procedure only if you are upgrading an Enterprise 450

The CD labeled DBDS Maintenance CD should still be in the CD drive of the
DNCS.

You should still be logged in as root user to an xterm window on the DNCS.

From an xterm window on the Enterprise 450 DNCS, type
/cdrom/cdrom0/s3/sai/scripts/Media/remove_hotspares and then press Enter.
Result: A confirmation message appears.

Type y and then press Enter.
Result: The system checks for metadevice errors and disables the hot spare
