Conditional Access (CA)

Conditional Access data consists of the system,
software, and components necessary to provide for
selective access or denial of specific services in a
network. Establishes a means by which a cable
service provider can collect subscriptions or other
payments for services received. This data includes
event Global Broadcast Authenticated Messages
(GBAMs), time-of-day GBAMs, and Entitlement
Management Messages (EMMs).
Core DHCT functionality
Core DHCT functionality includes the following
functions:

Presentation of encrypted digital A/V services,
either in subscription, IPPV or Reservation Pay-
