Chapter 1 Introduction
and alignment
This line extender can also be set up to operate at 870 MHz by using 870 MHz equalizers.
The 870 MHz equalizers are listed together with the 1 GHz equalizers in Accessories (on
page 6).
Power Supply
The DC power supply has the following features.
Located in housing lid for ease of maintenance
AC and DC test points provided on the power supply
Selectable AC undervoltage lockout feature

The 30 volt lockout is for 60 volt systems (factory default)

The 40 and 50 volt lockout positions are for 90 volt systems (field
configurable by moving a jumper)
Input and Output Ports
The GainMaker Line Extender has one input and one output port.
Configuration
The GainMaker Line Extender is configured with the following.
Diplex Filters
Reverse Amplifier
Forward Interstage Equalizer
Forward Interstage and Reverse Input Attenuator Pads
Test Points
There are five RF test points on the GainMaker Line Extender module.
There are three voltage test points on the GainMaker Line Extender power supply.
There are three voltage test points on the GainMaker Line Extender power supply.
AC Shunt Power Directors
The GainMaker Line Extender has two AC shunt power directors that are used to direct
AC current to and from the amplifier input and output ports.
