Balancing the Forward Path
Output levels are measured at the pilot frequency.
The standard single-pilot AGC makes amplifier output adjustments based on the
level of the pilot frequency carrier. Activate the pilot carrier with its final
unscrambled video source before beginning balance and alignment.
The following diagram shows the location of the AGC related switch, controls, and AGC
pad.
To Select the AGC Pad Value
Use the following formula to determine the correct AGC pad value.
AGC pad value = RF output level at pilot frequency (output port) - 29 dB
To Align the AGC Module
Complete the following steps to align the AGC module.

Make sure that switch S1 is set to position 2.
