C The following buttons have pink text labels, 

and function when you press and hold 
SHIFT (6):

Number buttons (pages 31, 39)

Enters the title/chapter numbers, radio 
frequencies, etc.

CLEAR (pages 30, 33, 46)

Clears the entry field.

Switches your TV’s input source.

D MUTING

Turns off the sound temporarily.

Adjusts the volume.

m/M (fast reverse/fast forward)

N (play)

X (pause)

x (stop)

F SHIFT

Press and hold this button to use buttons 
with pink text labels (3).

G DVD TOP MENU (page 32)

Opens or closes the DVD’s Top Menu.

Opens or closes the DVD’s menu.

C/X/x/c

Moves the highlight to a displayed item.

Enters the selected item.

O 

Returns to the previous display.

 DISPLAY (pages 14, 25, 28, 30, 33, 

42, 44, 49)

Displays playback information on the TV 
screen.

* Works with Sony TVs only. Depending on your TV, 

you may not be able to use some of the buttons.

• The AUDIO IN button does not work for this model.

Insert two R6 (size AA) batteries (supplied) by 
matching the 3 and # ends on the batteries to 
the markings inside the compartment.

• Do not leave the remote in an extremely hot or humid 

place. 

• Do not use a new battery with an old one.

• Do not drop any foreign object into the remote casing, 

particularly when replacing the batteries.

• If you do not intend to use the remote for an extended 

period of time, remove the batteries to avoid possible 
damage from battery leakage and corrosion.
