... Connect the aerial to ANTENNE ENTREE of 

the VCR.

... Connect ANTENNE SORTIE the aerial input 

of your TV using the supplied aerial cable.

... For better picture and sound, connect LIGNE-1 

(TV) to your TV using a PERITEL cable if your 
TV has a PERITEL connector.

... Connect the mains lead to the mains.

If your TV does not have a PERITEL connector

... Press

/1 (marche/veille) to turn on the VCR.

... Press REGL CANAL on the VCR lightly.

... Turn on your TV and select a programme 

position for the VCR picture.

...Press REGL CANAL.

...Press CHAINE +/– to select the TV system 

(“G” for B/G, “L” for L).

...Tune the TV to the same channel shown in 

the VCR display window so that 
MAGNETOSOPE SONY appears clearly on 
the TV screen. Refer to your TV’s instruction 
manual for tuning instructions.

...Press REGL CANAL.

If your TV has a PERITEL connector

...Press

...Press REGL CANAL on the VCR lightly.

...Press CHAINE +/– to set the RF channel to 

OFF.

...Press REGL CANAL.

You can preset channels.
Hold down REGLAGE AUTO for three seconds.

When all the receivable channels are preset, 
“SET UP” disappears from the display window. 
You can rearrange the programme position to 
your favourite order (see “Changing/disabling 
programme positions”).

• The Auto Set Up function may require a long 

time to complete (approximately 15 to 
18 minutes).
