Fully Automatic Calibration, Tuning & Measurement by
Phoenix “Auto-Tune”
Auto-tune is designed to align the phone' s RF part easier and faster, it calibrates, tunes
and measures the following for NPL-4 and NPL-5:

Preparations for Phoenix
Copy the ini-file: autotune_NPL-4.ini, autotune_NPL-5.ini to the root directory of Phoe-
nix. Follow the general instructions for tuning in chapter Phoenix tuning.

Compensation of cable and jig losses
Measure the losses of the feeding cable(s) between the phone and the Radio Communi-
cation Tester respective the network consisting of RF generator and Signal Analyzer. The
set up of the measurement equipment and its cabling are shown in the HELP-program
Environment.

Note: Only the proposed measurement equipment listed in <Environment> is sup-
ported.
Selection of measurement equipment:
-one Tx and one Rx measurement equipment each from the Tx and Rx lists
or
-one from the Rx/Tx list (only Rohde & Schwarz CMU 200 currently supported)
No mixing of equipment from the lists [Rx/Tx] and [Tx or Rx] allowed. This means the use
of CMU 200 allows no other measurement equipment !
