4. When the logo screen is displayed, press power button together with the volume up button. The

ThinkPad Setup program main menu opens.

5. Tap Security. The Security menu opens.

6. Tap Security Chip. The Security Chip submenu opens.

7. Tap an item you want to set. When the item is highlighted, tap the item.

8. Set other items that you want to set.

9. Tap Exit.

Depending on the models, your computer might have an integrated fingerprint reader. By enrolling your
fingerprint and associating it with Windows password beforehand, you can log on to the system by swiping
your finger over the reader, without typing a password. Thus fingerprint authentication can replace
passwords and enable simple and secure user access.

To enroll your fingerprint, do the following:

1. Turn on your computer.

2. Open Lenovo Fingerprint software

3. Follow the instructions on the screen to enroll your fingerprint.

To swipe your finger over the reader in tablet mode, do the following:

1. Place the ball of your finger, that is, the central part of the fingerprint, on the small bumps above the

reader. Make sure that the entire top joint of the finger is on the reader.

2. Apply light pressure and swipe your finger across the reader in one smooth motion.

The following actions could damage the fingerprint reader or cause it not to work properly:
