PillCam Recorder Maintenance

To check the status of the PillCam recorder before an examination, remove it from the cradle and push 
the button on the back.

If the cradle detects that the battery needs refreshing, it automatically discharges the battery before 
recharging it. The orange LED on the cradle blinks during discharging. Discharging is an overnight 
process that may take up to 12 hours.

We recommend that you manually discharge the battery every three months, even if it is not used. 

Open RAPID.

Make sure the appropriate battery is inside the PillCam recorder.

Insert the PillCam recorder into the cradle.

From the 

 screen, select the relevant PillCam recorder by clicking the 

 bar.

The buttons on the right side of the screen become available.

Click 

 to open the 

 screen.

At the bottom of the screen, click 

.

A message appears:

.

While the battery is being discharged, its battery status indicates 

:

•

In the bottom left corner of the 

 screen.

•

In the PillCam recorder DR2 bar in the 

 screen.

•

The orange LED on the cradle blinks.

To return to other RAPID functions, click 

.

If you need to stop the discharge (also for automatic discharge) while it is in progress, return to the 

 screen and click 

.

If you stop the automatic discharge process in the middle, the battery LEDs may not indicate the 
correct battery status.

Note
Do not charge or discharge the battery in the vicinity of the patient.
