VINVOX Retriever Installation Instructions
To install the VINVOX Retriever
1. Select either a right or left configured cable. The cable should be selected so the cable visibility and
interference with the driver is minimized
2. Determine location where the Retriever will be fastened using provided Velcro® strips and cable ties. This
location must be in in proximity of the OBDII port within the range of the chosen cable
3. Remove backing to expose adhesive on one side of the Velco® strips and fasten to the Retriever’s enclosure
4. Route cable as required and fasten the Retriever cable to the Retriever base unit
5. Plug the OBDII end of the Retriever cable into the OBDII port of the vehicle
6. Start the vehicle’s engine
7. Wait for Green LED to change from pulse at 1 second intervals to a solid LED
8. Remove backing to expose adhesive on the remaining side of the Velco® strips and fasten the Retriever to the

5. Plug the OBDII end of the Retriever cable into the OBDII port of the vehicle
6. Start the vehicle’s engine
7. Wait for Green LED to change from pulse at 1 second intervals to a solid LED
8. Remove backing to expose adhesive on the remaining side of the Velco® strips and fasten the Retriever to the
desired location of the vehicle
9. Using the supplied cable ties fasten the cable and retriever to the vehicle to minimize visibility and driver
interference
Interpreting the LEDs
The Retriever is equipped with two LEDs near the cable connector that indicate information as outlined below.
Amber LED: Indicates the status of the Retriever’s cellular transmitter
• LED pulsing at 1 second intervals: Retriever determining network connection
• LED pulsing at 3 second intervals: Retriever has a positive network connection
• LED pulsing at 3 second intervals: Retriever has a positive network connection
Green LED: Indicates the status of the Retriever with a series of light pulses as outlined below.
• LED pulsing at 1 second intervals: Retriever is performing its configuration process
• Solid LED: Retriever is properly configured for the vehicle and is polling for vehicle data. Will
• remain as a solid green LED for approximately a five minute period
• LED pulsing at 60 second intervals: Retriever is functioning normally
• Solid LED: Retriever is properly configured for the vehicle and is polling for vehicle data. Will
• remain as a solid green LED for approximately a five minute period
• LED pulsing at 60 second intervals: Retriever is functioning normally
