•  However, the Taikofon cannot withstand being stood or jumped on, hard pressure when the Taikofon is in a vertical
position, strikes or slashes with hard or sharp instruments, or any other intentional or unintentional rough handling.
Do not pull the Taikofon to the side to avoid it buckling in the connector. If the cable becomes detached, carefully
reconnect it to the charging connector.
•  Do not use the Taikofon without its cover. Do not open or dismantle the inner bag of the Taikofon, as it contains
precision-built mechanical parts.

Troubleshooting
1.  NO SOUND OR SOUND IS FAINT
•  Check that the Taikofon is switched on and the LED light is visible.
•  Check that the Taikofon’s battery is charged. If the battery is empty (LED light is off), charge the Taikofon: either by
connecting the charger to the mains or the charging cable to a device with a USB port.
•  Check that your chosen audio source is connected to the Taikofon via Bluetooth.
•  Check that the volume of the audio source/master device is not too low, or switched on mute.
•  Check that the audio content of the audio source is available and on.
2.  THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION DOES NOT WORK
•  Check that the Taikofon is not paired with another (previous) audio source/master device.  If so, follow the above
instructions (CONNECTING THE TAIKOFON TO AN AUDIO SOURCE)
•  Check that the audio source/master device is close enough to the Taikofon and that the Taikofon is not, for example,
squeezed behind your back in a manner that the Bluetooth signal can be temporarily weakened.
•  If necessary, reset the Taikofon’s Bluetooth connection memory:  Switch the Taikofon off, then swich it back on again
by pressing the on/off switch for a long time (over eight seconds). You will hear a sound signal and the Taikofon will
start looking for a new pair device.
•  Check the instructions for your audio source regarding Bluetooth connections. Sometimes, the problem is in the
master device: it is in the wrong state, where the Bluetooth connection does not work.  In such cases, do the follow-
ing: remove the pairing with the Taikofon, restart the device and then pair again.
If the problem is still not solved after following these instructions, then please contact your Taikofon retailer or Flexound
Systems customer service by email: info@flexound.fi or phoning +358 10 5671 770.
hear the sound signal.
•  From the LED light next to the switch you can see if the Taikofon is on or not; when you see the light the Taikofon is
on.
•  Remember to switch off the Taikofon after use by pressing the on/off switch for about a second. When you hear the
sound signal and the LED goes out, the power is off.
•  Please note, the Taikofon will only start working if its battery is charged, or if the Taikofon is charging. To make it
easier to start using, the battery in your Taikofon has already been pre-charged during manufacture. In active use,
the battery lasts approximately 4–8 hours.
•  If the battery is low, the Taikofon gives the following warning: the orange charging light flashes and there is a sound
signal every five minutes. The Taikofon can still be used for some time, but will need to be charged soon.
•  The Taikofon is charged by connecting the charger to the mains socket. If you unzip the cover, you can find the
charger cable and the charger under the Taikofon’s flap. Connect the narrow end of the connecting cable to the
Taikofon charging connector and the thick end to the charger (or external USB connector). Connect the charger to
the mains. You can store the cable and charger in the pocket inside the Taikofon after charging.
•  An orange LED light is on during charging. You can also use the Taikofon when the charger is connected to the
mains. The Taikofon’s battery can be fully recharged in approximately three hours.
•  You can also charge your Taikofon using a USB connector by taking the charger plug off the charger cable and con-
necting the Taikofon to a computer’s USB port, a charging battery or other charger equipped with a USB port.
CONNECTING THE TAIKOFON TO AN AUDIO SOURCE WIRELESSLY (BLUETOOTH CONNECTION)
A new audio source:
When you connect the Taikofon’s to an audio source with Bluetooth-enabled audio source (e.g. smartphone, iPad,
computer) for the first time:
•  Check that the Bluetooth connection of your audio source (the master device) is on. If necessary, check the instruc-
tions for the audio source itself.
•  Switch the Taikofon off and then on again by pressing the on/off switch continuously (three seconds). The Taikofon
will then start searching for the master device and will appear in the master device’s settings as ”Flexound Xperi-
ence”. If necessary, click the master device’s ”search” button to see all available devices with a Bluetooth connection.
Select the Taikofon, i.e. Flexound Xperience.
•  The blue and white LED lights will flash during the search. When the master device has formed a connection with
the Taikofon, the LED light will change to a blue intermittent flashing and the master device will notify that it has been
paired with the Taikofon (Flexound Xperience).
•  The Taikofon is now connected to the master device and is ready for use. You can now listen to the content you
have selected on your audio device, for example, music from your smartphone or computer, an audiobook or other
content.
An ”old” connection that has been used before with the Taikofon:
•  If the master device (smartphone, iPad etc.) you are using as the audio source is the one that was used the previous
time the Taikofon was used, the Taikofon only needs to be switched on.
•  Check still that the Bluetooth connection on your audio source is on so that you can start enjoying the magic sound
of the Taikofon.
Changing the audio source:
•  If you want to use a different audio source  the next time you use the Taikofon, e.g. an iPad instead of your smartphone,
follow the instructions given above for connecting a new audio source.
•  Some audio devices, such as tablets, might require that the previously formed Bluetooth pair is cancelled before a
new Taikofon–audio source pairing is made. In this case, turn off the Bluetooth connection of the earlier device before
making a new pairing.
•  Where necessary, check the instructions for your audio source on how to form and remove Bluetooth connections.
•  If necessary, you can switch on the Taikofon by pressing the on/off switch continuously for three seconds. You will
hear the sound signal and the Taikofon will begin to search for a new sound source. If this does not help, you can reset
the Taikofon’s memory containing the master devices. You can then switch the Taikofon on by pressing the on/off
switch continuously for eight seconds, after which the taikofon will start searching for a new sound source.
How to look after your Taikofon – safe use
The Taikofon is made from durable and safe materials to be a part of your life. The rule of thumb to follow is to
use your Taikofon in the same way you would treat your pet – although it is soft, it does not like to be handled too
