Installation Rules for Disks

This section explains the installation rules for disks.

2.5" disks

2.5" disks can be installed in the front side of a 2.5" type controller enclosure.

Disks can be installed in any slots of an enclosure.

 shows the positions of 2.5" disk slots.

3.5" disks

3.5" disks can be installed in the front side of a 3.5" type controller enclosure or a 3.5" type drive 
enclosure.

Different types of disks can be installed in the same enclosure. Disks can be installed in any slots 
of an enclosure.

 shows the positions of 3.5" disk slots.

WARNING

Do Not

System disks are installed in Slot#0 and Slot#1. Never remove system 
disks. Doing so will render the ETERNUS DX Disk storage system 
unusable.
