Watching picture-in-picture (PIP)
The picture-in-picture (PIP) feature allows you to watch two pictures
on-screen at the same time. The small PIP window can display a
signal from an antenna or cable TV broadcast, or from another device
connected to your TV, such as a VCR or DVD player.
To use the PIP feature:
1. Tune the TV to the channel you want to watch on the main
screen.
Note: If you want to watch a signal from another device in the PIP
window, make sure you have connected the device properly. For
connection details, see “Connecting your TV,” pages 7–13.
2. Press PIP once to open a PIP window 1/9 the size of the screen.
Press PIP a second time to open a PIP window 1/16 the size of
the screen.

3. Repeatedly press SOURCE to select the signal source for the PIP
window—TV (ANT 1 only), VIDEO1, VIDEO2, or VIDEO3.
The selected source will display in purple text on-screen.
Note:
You can open the PIP window when ANT2 is the current signal source
for the main screen, but you cannot view an ANT2 signal in the PIP
window.
You cannot open the PIP window when ColorStream is the current signal
source for the main screen, and you cannot view a ColorStream signal in
the PIP window.

4. Press PIP CH 
y z to change the PIP channel.
If the V-CHIP CONTROL feature is active and you try to watch
a program that exceeds the rating limits you set, the PIP window
will enter into the program block mode. See “Using the V-CHIP
(parental control) feature” on page 35.

your TV screen for extended periods of

as a still PIP window) can become
permanently engrained in the picture

because it is the result of misuse.
