3.2.1 WSNRunner setup
For users who intend to run the WSNRunner application to control devices from a PC
using Python scripts, additional PC-side environment variables need to be set up, as
described below.
1. Download and install Jython

3. Launch
WSNRunnerSetup.exe
located in the
./Evaluation Tools/
folder of the
BitCloud PS SDK, and follow installation instructions
a. When prompted for
Jython path

, specify the full path to
./Evaluation Tools/Runner/commands
c. When prompted for

4. Add the path to the installed WSNRunner application to the system PATH
environment variable. For that, go to
Control Panel > System > Advanced >
Environment Variables
, select
Path
from the
System variables
list, press
Edit

” followed by the actual path to the WSNRunner directory (by
default
C:\Program Files\Atmel\WSNRunner
), then press
OK
5. Go to the
C:\Documents and Settings\<account name>\.config\
directory.
Open the
wsnrunner.properties
file using NotePad (or any other text editor)
In this file, you can:
o See and correct paths which were specified during installation (be
careful; there should be no spaces at the end of the path strings)
o Add variables to be passed to the scripts; channel mask, for instance
o Specify COM ports to be used for communication with devices
o Specify COM ports to be used for communication with devices
NOTE
When installing WSNRunner environment for the first time, only paths will be present
in this file. The chmask and nodes variables need to be added manually in order to
