leaking of the batteries and therefore to damage to the device.
Ensure that batteries are not taken apart, short-circuited or thrown into a fire. Never use con-
ventional, non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
To prevent damage to the device from leaking batteries, remove the batteries if you are not
going to use the device for a prolonged period. Leaking or damaged batteries can cause burns
if they come into contact with the skin. You should therefore wear suitable protective gloves.
Always replace the complete set of batteries. Never mix batteries and rechargeable batteries,
do not mix batteries/rechargeable batteries with different states (e.g. charged and half charged
batteries).
• Open the battery compartment on the back of the device to insert or replace the batteries. Slide the battery
compartment cover from the device in the direction of the arrow.
• Insert 3 new Micro/AAA batteries, with the correct polarity (pay attention to +/Plus and -/Minus). The correct

Using the Count-Down Timer
• Set the desired duration for the count-down-timer using the buttons „MIN“ (to set the minutes) and „SEC“ (to
set the seconds).
For a quick adjustment, hold the corresponding button down for a while.
• To start the count-down-timer, briefly press the button „START/STOP/MEMORY“ (1).
The timer display runs; also the display „M“ (minutes) and „S“ (seconds) flash.
The count-down-timer can be stopped and restarted by briefly pressing the button „START/STOP/ MEMO-
RY“ (1) .
• After the timer duration (at „00:00“) elapses, an audible signal is emitted for about one minute; the device
automatically changes to the count-up-timer mode. In this way you can determine how long it has been since
the set count-down duration elapsed.
• Stop the audible signal by briefly pressing the button „START/STOP/MEMORY“ (1). The timer duration you
set last appears in the display (e.g. 10 minutes).
• If the count-down timer is stopped (if necessary, briefly press the button „START/STOP/MEMORY“ (1)) it
can be reset to „00:00“ by pressing both buttons „MIN“ (2) and „SEC“ (3) simultaneously.
After that another/new time can be set for the count-down timer or the the count-up timer can be used.
Using the Count-Up Timer
• If the timer is running, stop it (briefly press the button „START/STOP/MEMORY“ (1)).
• Reset the timer to „00:00“, by pressing both buttons „MIN“ (2) and „SEC“ (3) simultaneously.
• To start the count-up timer, briefly press the button „START/STOP/MEMORY“ (1). Using the same button,
the count-up-timer can be stopped and restarted.
• In order to reset the count-up timer to „00:00“, you must stop it first with the button „START/STOP/ MEMO-
RY“ (1) and then press both buttons „MIN“ (2) and „SEC“ (3) simultaneously.
Illumination and visible alarm for the count-down timer
• By repeatedly pressing the button „LIGHT ON/OFF“ (4), one of the available background colours can be
selected.
Hold the button „LIGHT ON/OFF“ (4) pressed down for a few seconds  in order to save the present back-
ground colour or to activate the optical alarm (symbol „
“ appears at the bottom of the display) or to deac-
tivate it (symbol „
“ disappears).
If you now press the button „LIGHT ON/OFF“ (4) briefly, to activate the illumination for a few seconds, the
light colour selected will be used.
• If the symbol „
“ appears at the bottom of the display, the visible alarm for the count-down timer is acti-
vated.
Beginning from the last 60 seconds of the timer duration for the count-down timer, the background illumi-
nation turns green, from 30 seconds it turns blue and red for the final 10 seconds. When the alarm signal is
emitted (for about 1 minute) there is an automatic colour change to indicate that the count-down duration
has elapsed.
Magnetic clamp
At the back of the timer there is a hinged magnetic holder. The timer can be attached to an appropriate sur-
face with this.
Keep a sufficient distance to magnetic cards, picture tubes or similar, since they can be affect-
ed or even damaged by the magnet!
