The product shows the time of the day on an easily readable analogue 
clock face.

Setting of the time of day is carried out via the integrated DCF receiver; 
with reception problems the time of day can also be set manually.

Always observe the safety instructions and all other information included 
in these operating instructions.

   The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by

   For safety and licensing (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion and/or 

modifi cations of the product are not permitted. Never dismantle the 
product.

   The product is intended exclusively for use in dry interiors; it must not 

get damp or wet.

-

   This product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children. 

Use the product only out of the reach of children; the product contains 
parts, glass and batteries that can be swallowed.

-

   Do not leave the packaging materials unattended. They may become 

dangerous playthings for children.

-

   Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or 

accidental drops, even from a low height.

-

   Normal/rechargeable batteries do not belong in the hands of children.

-

   Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; there is a 

risk of them being swallowed by children or pets. If they are swallowed, 
consult a doctor immediately.

 

 Liquids leaking from normal/rechargeable batteries are very chemical-
ly aggressive. Objects or surfaces coming into contact with these liq-
uids might be considerably damaged. Thus, store batteries/recharge-
able batteries in a suitable location.

   Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries in contact with 

the skin can cause acid burns; therefore, use suitable safety gloves.

   Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened 

or thrown into fi re. There is a risk of explosion!

-

   Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries; risk of explosion! 

Only charge rechargeable batteries that are intended for this purpose; 
use a suitable battery charger.

The battery compartment is located on the rear side of the radio wall clock. 
Insert a battery of type AA/mignon with the correct polarity there (pay 
attention to +/plus and -/minus). 



   A rechargeable battery may be used, but due to the lower voltage 

output (rechargeable battery = 1.2V, standard battery = 1.5V) and 
the lower capacity, the service life is shorter. If you still wish to use 
a rechargeable battery, we recommend you use a NiMH battery 
with low self-discharge.

As soon as the batteries have been inserted into the radio clock, the 
hands move to the 12 o’clock position. Afterwards the radio wall clock at-
tempts to receive the DCF signal (see chapter “Getting started”).

Replacing the batteries is required if large time differences suddenly oc-
cur or the hands of the radio wall clock are standing still.

If you do not intend to use the radio wall clock for a long period (e.g. if it is 
to be stored away), remove the battery fi rst. If batteries are old they can 
leak and damage the battery compartment of the radio wall clock.

Directly after inserting the battery the radio wall clock starts an attempt 
to receive the DCF signal. The hands move to the 12 o’clock position and 
afterwards the radio wall clock searches for the DCF signal. This can take 
up to 10 minutes. 

The DCF signal is a signal that is 
broadcast from a transmitter in 
Mainfl ingen (near Frankfurt am 
Main). Its range is up to 1500 km 
and, under ideal reception condi-
tions, even up to 2000 km.

The DCF signal also contacts the 
exact time and the date.

Of course, this eliminates the te-
dious manual setting of summer 
and winter time on the radio wall 
clock, since the time change oc-
curs automatically.

If the radio wall clock does not 
show an exact time of day after 10 minutes, please restart the reception 
attempt (see chapter “Manual start of the DCF reception”).



   Bad reception of the DCF signal can also be caused by, e.g. met-

allised insulated glass, reinforced concrete construction design, 
coated special wallpaper or an installation in cellars.

 

 The radio wall clock is not supposed to be operated in the vicinity 
of cables, mains sockets and electrical appliances.

 

Keep a suffi cient distance from metal objects.

To test it, change the position of the radio wall clock and start a new re-
ception attempt for the DCF signal (see chapter “Manual start of the DCF 
reception”). Alternatively the time of day can also be set manually, see 
chapter “Manual time setting”.

In the course of the day, the radio wall clock performs a number of recep-
tion attempts. One successful search per day is enough for correct time 
display.

Hang up the radio wall clock using the mounting bracket on the back with 
a nail, a screw or a hook. 



   

 

Due to the heaviness of the radio wall clock, ensure solid mount-
ing! If the clock falls, the housing of the radio wall clock will be 
damaged, and the guarantee will be void!

Impress the “WAVE“ button on the back for more than 3 seconds. When 
the hands are moving fast, release the button. The hands move to the 12 
o’clock position and afterwards the radio wall clock searches for the DCF 
signal.

Alternatively, you can also remove the battery for a few seconds and in-
sert it again instead of pressing the “WAVE” button.
