Tree Protocol (STP) globally.

STP is not required in a loop-free topology and is not enabled by default.

Description
Use this command to disable the MSTP, RSTP, or STP protocol globally.
Usage
Guidelines
This command has no usage guidelines.
Examples
To disable STP globally:
switch(config)#protocol spanning-tree rstp
switch(conf-rstp)#shutdown
To enable STP globally:
switch(config)#protocol spanning-tree rstp
switch(conf-rstp)#no shutdown
