SWITCHING ON AND OFF
•  When connected
to mains power the
sander is switched
“on” and “off” via the
power switch (3) at
the front of
the sander.
•  Push the “I” side of the switch firmly inward
until it clicks to the on position. To switch
off press in the “O” side of the switch.
•  Hold the tool securely and make sure that
you have full control at all times.
•  Remove the sander from the workpiece
before switching off.
ADJUSTING THE SPEED
The speed can be adjusted to suit the material
being sanded. “1” being the lowest speed and
“6” being the highest. Higher speeds tend to
cut faster and produce a smoother finish.
•  To adjust the
speed, move the
variable speed dial

(4) until the desired
sanding results
are achieved.

DUST EXTRACTION
 WARNINGS
•  For optimum dust extraction, remove
the dust bag (7) when it is no more than
half full and shake the contents into a bin
or container.
•  Do not use the dust bag when sanding
metal. The hot metal particles could cause
residual wood dust or the internal bag
itself to catch fire.
•  Periodically remove
the bag from the
adaptor for washing
in warm soapy water.
Make sure the bag is
completely dry before
replacing it.
1. Push the dust bag (7) fully into the large
opening of the dust bag adaptor (6).
2. Push the dust bag adaptor onto the dust
extraction port (5) of the sander.

The dust bag
         can be rotated
to allow best access
for the sander when
sanding difficult
workpieces.
3. The dust extraction port can be connected
directly to a household vacuum cleaner
or workshop dust extraction system if
preferred over the dust bag.
FITTING A SANDING DISC
Before fitting sandpaper, remove any dust or
debris from the hooks and loops of the base.
1. Match the holes in the sanding disc (8)

with the holes in the sanding base (2)
and press it evenly into position.
2. To remove the sheet, peel it away from
the base.
 Use only 5" diameter sanding
discs with 13/32" ventilation holes
and hook & loop backing.
Take care to regularly clean out
the build up of dust on the base.

FUNCTIONS
EXTENSION CORDS
•  Replace damaged cords immediately.
Use of damaged cords can shock, burn
or electrocute.
•  If an extension cord is necessary, a cord
with adequate size conductors should be
used to prevent excessive voltage drop,
loss of power or overheating. The table
shows the correct size to use, depending
on cord length and nameplate amperage
rating of tool. If in doubt, use the next
heavier gauge. Always use U.L. and CSA
listed extension cords.
