What to do when the alarm sounds
Galaxy 65 internal temperature
• Warning: 0°C to 4°C and
66°C to 70°C
• Shutdown: <0°C and >70°C
• Check the Disk Array Administrator software to confirm
what the alarm means. See
D.2, ”Displaying the Event
Log”, on page 154
.
• Check the ambient temperature and lower it, if needed.
Ambient temperature should be less than 45°C.
• Check that the Galaxy 65 Subsystem has good airflow
clearance. The Galaxy 65 Subsystem requires airflow
clearance on all sides, except the bottom and top.
• Check that the internal fans are running. The fans are in
the Power Managers.
Galaxy 65 CPU temperature
• Warning: 0°C to 4°C and
91°C to 100°C
• Shutdown: <0°C and >100°C
• Same as above.
VCC voltage
• Warning: 5 V -10% to -8% and +8%
to +10%
• Shutdown: 5 V <-10% and >+10%
• Check the Disk Array Administrator software to confirm
what the alarm means. See
D.2, ”Displaying the Event
Log”, on page 154
.
• If it is a warning alarm, let the Galaxy 65 Subsystem
continue to operate.
• If it is a shutdown alarm, see which SM module is
showing the alarm. If only one SM module shows the
alarm, replace that SM module. If it is both, you must
troubleshoot the Power Supply/Cooling modules.
