When the regional setting is set to IEEE mode, the meter correlates power factor sign 
(PF sign) with the PF lead / lag convention (also load type).

•

For PF lag (inductive), the PF sign is positive (+)

•

For PF lead (capacitive), the PF sign is negative (-).
