Image Quality
The D4 supports the following image quality options. See page 
444 for information on the number of pictures that can be stored 
at different image quality and size settings.

RAW data from the image sensor are saved 
directly to the memory card in Nikon Electronic 
Format (NEF). Settings such as white balance 
and contrast can be adjusted after shooting.
TIFF (RGB)

Record uncompressed TIFF-RGB images at a bit 
depth of 8 bits per channel (24-bit color).
 
TIFF is 
supported by a wide variety of imaging 
applications.

Record JPEG images at a compression ratio of
