Advanced (Recording pictures)
When 20 mm/F1.7 lens included in DMC-GF1C is attached: Approx. 1.0 m (3.28 feet) to 
3.5 m (11.5 feet)
When 14 – 45 mm/F3.5– 5.6 lens included in DMC-GF1K is attached and at Wide: Approx. 
1.0 m  (3.28 feet)  to  3.0 m  (9.84 feet)
When you do not want to use the AF assist lamp (e.g. when taking pictures of animals in dark 
places), set the [AF ASSIST LAMP] to [OFF]. In this case, it will become more difficult to focus 
on the subject.
Remove the lens hood.
When you use a lens with a large filter diameter that obscures the AF assist lamp, shadows 
may appear on the picture and the performance of the camera may deteriorate.
The setting for the [AF ASSIST LAMP] is fixed to [OFF] in [SCENERY], [ARCHITECTURE], 
[NIGHT SCENERY] and [SUNSET] in Scene Mode.
Refer to P74 for details.
The recording area indicated is a guide line.
[AF+MF]
It is possible to adjust focus manually after it was adjusted 
automatically.
[OFF]
[ON]:
It is possible to finely adjust the focus manually by 
rotating the focus ring while AF lock (Focus Mode is 
set to [AFS] and shutter button is half-way pressed, or 
AF lock with [AF/AE LOCK]).
 [MF ASSIST]
In Manual Focus, the assistance screen appears on the screen to 
facilitate focusing on the subject.
[OFF]
[ON]:
Center of the screen will be enlarged automatically 
when the focus ring is rotated.

REC AREA]
This changes the angle of view during motion picture recording 
and still picture recording.

[REMAINING DISP.]
This will switch display between the number of recordable 
pictures and available recording time.
[REMAINING SHOTS]:
This will display the number of recordable pictures for still 
pictures.
[REMAINING TIME]:
This will display the available recording time for motion pictures.

BUTTON]
Enables/disables the motion picture button.
[OFF]/[ON]
