Open-Xchange Express Edition Overview
Open-Xchange Express Edition is the latest addition to the Open-Xchange pro-
duct range. It is specifically designed for organisations that have a requirement
to keep IT in-house while keeping expenditures in technical staff and expertise
to a minimum. This requirement means that installation, maintenance and sup-
port have to be simple, fast and efficient: A real “Out-of-the-Box” solution.
Open-Xchange Express Edition provides the following advanced features:
Advanced web based end user interface – After installation users are, by default,
presented with an advanced web based user interface. With just a standard
browser the interface features drag and drop, right-click commands, context
driven menus and icons, dynamic graphics and easy to understand commands,
features that rival any product on the market.
Global accessibility – Any authorised user from any computer around the world
with an Internet browser can access their E-Mails, calendars, contacts, docu-
ments, tasks etc. at the click of a button.
Microsoft Outlook® Integration – With the Open-Xchange OXtender for Micro-
soft Outlook®, the Open-Xchange Express Edition server can connect; service and
synchronize Microsoft Outlook®.
Document storage and management built in – The key to Smart Collaboration
is the ability to have all your data in one place via one password based on a
common set of tools. The InfoStore (document and information sharing system)
enables organisations to combine the power of email with document version
control. Using a Wiki-like, roll forward/roll back feature, the entire enterprise can
share and manage documents, bookmarks and knowledge entries. The InfoStore
also provides the highly versatile feature of exposing its WebDAV interface enab-
ling full external integration.
