There are differences between IEEE 802.3 and
Ethernet Version 2.0 AUI cables. While the
10BASE-FB Transceiver is compatible with both,
ensure that the AUI cable being used is appropri-
ate for the device being connected. Refer to the
section, AUI Cables and Pinouts, later in this
manual for cable specifications.

Verifying Physical Link Operation
To verify physical link operation:
