Non-Form Messages
non-form message is a message that is intended for the Receive Buffer only.
Non-form messages are used to perform such tasks as:
•  setting the automatic transmit buffer length
•  changing the beep pattern of a DOS terminal
•  instructing an operator to carry out an action
•  or enabling barcode or aux input.
Rule:  Always send non-form messages “forced” to ensure that the DOS
terminal accepts them.
You can send an outbound non-form message from the host computer to the DOS terminal either
forced or unforced. The host can receive non-form messages from the DOS terminal with or
without sequence numbers.
The form’s control character determines whether a message is a form or non-form message.
forced message is a message that is copied into the DOS terminal receive buffer regardless of
the buffer's previous content. In other words, this message overwrites any previous message in the
receive buffer.
An unforced message is a message that is copied into the DOS terminal receive buffer only if the
receive buffer does not contain data (cleared).
The  receive buffer is a conceptual buffer where all message text is put first upon receipt at the
DOS terminal.
