Charging the Battery
The camera uses a rechargeable EN-EL5 Li-ion battery (supplied). Charge the
battery with the supplied MH-61 battery charger before first use or when the
battery is running low.

Plug the charger in
Connect the power cable to the charger (c) and

Remove the battery terminal cover and insert
the battery as shown, matching the projections
on the battery to the indentations in the charger.

Charge the battery
The CHARGE lamp will blink as the battery
recharges. (If the lamp flickers rapidly, either the
temperature is not in the range of 5–35°C/41–
95°F supported by the charger or the battery is
faulty. If the battery is faulty, unplug the charger
immediately and bring the battery and charger
to a Nikon-authorized service representative for
inspection.) A fully-exhausted battery will
charge in about two hours.
