Plug the 36-pin connector into the
printer’s parallel port and the 25-pin
connector into the computer’s parallel
port.

Turn on both machines.

Configure for ECP or bidirectional
parallel port mode in your computer
setup (i.e. BIOS or CMOS).

Note:

Before using your printer, install
and configure the Adobe PostScript
printer driver and your printer’s
PPD.

Turn off your printer and your com-

Connect one end of the CAT 5 Ethernet
cable to your printer’s Ethernet port.

Connect the cables other end to the
appropriate port on your network.

Plug the cable’s square, smaller connec-
tor into the printer’s USB port.

2.

Plug the thin, larger connector into the
computer’s USB port.

Note:

It is not necessary to turn off your
printer or computer before plugging
in the USB.
