❒ Insert the originals so that the

right edge is aligned with the
original guide.

❒ Release the original when it is

pulled slightly into the ma-
chine.

❒ Immediately after the machine

is turned on, or if the tempera-
ture is low, or if making a lot of
continuous copies (more than
30 sheets/A0, (more than 30
sheets/E size)), the continuous
copy speed may be down to en-
sure the toner fuses to the pa-
per. This is called CPM down.

❒ To stop originals being fed into

the machine, press the 

{Scanner

} key.

❒ When you press the {Scanner

} key, the original stops im-

mediately, which can cause the
original to jam. If this happens,
see p.116 “

xClearing Mis-

feeds”

❒ To pause or cancel a copy job,

press the 

{Clear/Stop} key.

When you press the 

{Clear/Stop}

key, the machine stops after the
current copy (one sheet) has fin-
ished.

❒ When Scanner Stop Trigger set-

ting is set to on, copying starts
when you press the 

{Start} key.

A f t e r   t h e   o r i g i n a l s   h a v e   b e e n
scanned, the number of originals is
displayed in the right corner of the
screen. This allows you to check the
number of originals in a job, or to
check if any sheets have been fed to-
gether, and can also be used as a
guide for the number of copies that
will be stored in the copy output tray.

Resetting the original counter

A

Press the [Orig.] key and the count
number in the top right corner of
the screen.
The number is reset to 0.
