“Are T5e/T5r/SL5r ribbons and media compatible with the T4M/SL4M?”
Yes, as long as the ribbons do not exceed 450 Meters in length and a 4.33” (110 mm) width.
In addition, the SL4M/T4M can use ribbon with ink coated side in or coated side out without making any changes to the
printer settings. As there is no toxic elements in the ribbons, they can be disposed as normal waste. Outside wound or
inside wound media rolls will also work in the SL4M/T4M. For fanfold media, simply insert the media from the bottom or
the rear of the printer.

No. Similar to the SL5r/T5r, changing print resolution from 203 to 305 DPI and vice versa is achieved by simply
changing the print head which self aligns within the print mechanism. The SL4M/T4m auto-detects the printhead
resolution and makes all parameters changes.

“Will the same RFID media used on a SL5r work on the SL4M?”
Yes. The SL4M uses the same MP2 encoding platform found on the SL5r and the SLPA. With MP2, the same RFID
media can be used in all three models to leverage volume and reduce tag costs, increase inventory efficiency, and
optimize production. The SL4M also features advanced tag calibration to use for existing media inventory with non-
standard tag positions.

“Are printheads the same for T5/SL5 and T4M/SL4M?”
No. The printheads of the T5/SL5 can not be used with the T4M/SL4M and vice versa.
However, in contrary to the T5/SL5, printheads are the same for the T4M and SL4M.
