Cisco Cisco Tunnel Terminating Gateway (TTG)
HNB Gateway in Wireless Network
How HNB-GW Works ▀
HNB-GW Administration Guide, StarOS Release 16 ▄
57
HNB-GW supports two transport options for TCP connection: ATM Transport (TCP over IP over
AAL5 over ATM) and IP Transport (TCP over IP).
Important:
Currently, the ATM Transport support is not available.
TCP Destination Port number for SABP messages is 3452.
HNB-GW initiates TCP connection towards CBC when there is information (e.g. failure or restart
indications) that needs to be sent from HNB-GW to the CBC and there is no existing TCP connection.
If HNB-GW has established the connection then it will also be responsible to release the TCP
connection.
When the sending entity (HNB-GW/CBC) sends SABP messages on an existing TCP connection, it
(HNB-GW or CBC) uses TCP destination port number either 3452 (if it was the initiator of this TCP
connection), or the TCP source port number that was received from the peer entity that had initiated
this existing TCP connection.
connection), or the TCP source port number that was received from the peer entity that had initiated
this existing TCP connection.
Important:
HNB-GW’s support for IPv6 (IP dual stack support) and Differentiated Services
Code Point (DSCP) for IuBC interface is not available as of now.
SABP Handling
SABP Elementary procedures (EP) may be invoked independently of each other as standalone
procedures, which can be active in parallel. HNB-GW supports Multiple SABP EPs active in parallel.
HNB-GW supports following Elementary Procedures (EP) divided into Class 1 and Class 2; and
encoding and decoding of SABP messages:
