The NSF/SSO—MPLS VPN feature allows a provider edge (PE) router or Autonomous System Border
Router (ASBR) (with redundant Route Processors) to preserve data forwarding information in a
Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Virtual Private Network (VPN) when the primary Route
Processor (RP) restarts. This feature module describes how to enable Nonstop Forwarding in MPLS
VPN networks, including the following types of VPNs:
Router (ASBR) (with redundant Route Processors) to preserve data forwarding information in a
Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Virtual Private Network (VPN) when the primary Route
Processor (RP) restarts. This feature module describes how to enable Nonstop Forwarding in MPLS
VPN networks, including the following types of VPNs:

MPLS VPN—Carrier Supporting Carrier

MPLS VPN—Carrier Supporting Carrier—IPv4 BGP Label Distribution
