Introduction
This document describes the charging scenarios related to Rating Group (RG) 0 on Gateway
GPRS Supporting Node (GGSN).
Problem Description
Rating Group = '0' reflecting in GGSN Call Data Records(CDRs). Also the volume that reports in
GGSN on Rating group = ‘0’ does not report to Online Charging Server (OCS).
Troubleshoot
As per the Postpaid redirection plan, they call with RG 431 ruledef which is not configured with any
content –id. Due to which, all postpaid redirection users get zero rating group in Call Data Record
(CDR).
As per the multiple case test, it is identified with certain User Equipments (UEs) only.
1. Prepaid numbers seem to have an issue. The ones who belong to single user profile redirection
plan.
2. If the user tries to reach any page, it gets redirected with Customer page on basis of user agent.
On the GGSN end, there is a charging action for this redirect task and it is not associated with any
Rating Group. In this case, the user usage contains with "0" rating group as well.

CDR elements follow:
Conclusion
If in a charging-action billing-action egcdr is configured but content-id is not, data traffic is charged
against this charging-action and is reported in CDRs with Rating Group "0".
