Product Overview 
The Cisco
®
 ONS 15454 Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP) is the industry benchmark for dense wavelength-
division multiplexing (DWDM) solutions, offering a comprehensive approach for designing, provisioning, and 
maintaining an optical network with the help of the Cisco Transport Planner network design tool and the complete 
flexibility of multidegree reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) technology. The Cisco Transport 
Planner software that facilitates the design of the DWDM optical network is a crucial module of the Cisco ONS 
15454 MSTP. Figure 1 shows the GUI for Cisco Transport Planner Release 9.2.1.
