IEEE 802.3ad link aggregation

CTM R9.0 supports IEEE 802.3ad link aggregation, which allows one or more 
links to be aggregated into a single link aggregation group. Link aggregation 
provides link protection, increased bandwidth, increased availability, and load 
balancing across multiple links. The standard also defines the Link 
Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP), which is used to configure and control 
the link aggregation sublayer. LACP provides the ability to continuously 
monitor the configuration and take appropriate reconfiguration actions.

CTM allows users with the appropriate permissions to select the link 
aggregation methods. You can see all of the interfaces that belong to a link 
aggregation group, plus the aggregation method provisioned. 

To support link aggregation, CTM supports Ethernet channel configuration on 
a per-card basis.

VLAN mirroring on standby cards

VLAN services that are provisioned on the working/active ML cards are 
automatically provisioned on the protect/standby ML cards.

Support for media gateway overload 
notification on VXSM cards

CTM reports how many calls per second are running in the system. At the 
VXSM card level, the Resource Control tab contains a Gateway Resource 
Utilization category. When you select this category, all of the supported 
resources are selected in the configuration table. The Real-Time Statistics 
table displays the following statistics:

Maximum utilization

Minimum utilization

Average utilization

Select a specific resource and the real-time statistics to retrieve the current 
values for that resource.
