New and enhanced VNE support is be provided through Device Packages (DPs) and service or point patches, as they 
become available.    To obtain this additional support, do the following: 

•  For Device Packages (DPs), log into Cisco.com and go to the

•  For Point Patches and Service Patches, contact your Cisco representative. 

Once you download the new support, it can be installed on Cisco Prime Network 3.8.  The downloadable package 
provides new and enhanced device support for multiple device families (as described in this document or in the 
release note or readme that accompanies the download). 

•  Prime Network 3.8 DPs cannot be installed on all Cisco ANA releases. 

•  Be sure to read the accompanying Readme file and installation instructions that are available from the download site. 

•  Device Package release DP 1206 is compatible with 3.9.0 and 3.8 PP05, Please refer Readme of the device package for 

•  Device Package DP 1206 is not supported on Cisco Prime Network 3.8.0.1 

•  To get the IOS XE to IOS equivalent software version mapping, please refer to 

 

The base release of Cisco Prime Network 3.8 contains all of the support provided up to and including Cisco 
ANA 3.7.2/3.7.3 DP 7.0. 

If you have a Cisco ANA 3.7.2 or 3.7.3 installation and have installed DP 8.0 or later, and you decide to upgrade to 
Cisco Prime network 3.8, you should install the latest DP for Prime Network 3.8.    (As a general rule, to get the latest 
support and bug fixes, always install the latest Device Package that is available on Cisco.com.)   

To identify the jar file that is being used by any devices that are managed by Prime Network, open the Administration 
GUI client and check the properties of the VNE.    In the General tab, the driver file name is displayed. 

The following example shows the Cisco ASR 1002 is using the driver file Cisco-ASR10xx-v2.0.0.0.jar that was provided 
in the base release of Prime Network 3.8 (“DP 0”).
