The DTACS Server can be running while you back up the Informix database.


The external tape drive should be connected to your DTACS server.
1  Insert the DTACS DVD into the DVD drive.
2  From a root xterm window, type df -n and then press Enter. A list of the
mounted filesystems appears.
Note: The presence of /cdrom in the output confirms that the system correctly
mounted the DVD.
3  Label your backup tape with the following information:
[DTACS Server] Database Backup [Day of the Week]
[Site Name]
[Software Version]
DTACS DVD [version]
[Tape #]
Notes:

Customize the label with the day of the week, site name, and software
version for the site you are backing up.

If your database backup requires more than one tape, be sure to note the tape
number on the label.

Server.
Type /cdrom/cdrom0/s3/backup_restore/backupDatabase -v and then press

. The system instructs you to mount tape 1 on /dev/rmt/0h and then press
Return to continue.

Notes:

The message "Successfully completed the database backup" appears when
the backup has completed successfully.


message. Call Cisco Services at 1-866-787-3866 for assistance in resolving the
error message.
6  Remove the tape and store it in a safe place.
