Cisco Cisco Packet Data Interworking Function (PDIF)

 

1.  CBC sends LOAD-QUERY message to HNB-GW. 
2.  HNB-GW forwards the LOAD-QUERY enquiry message to corresponding HNBs in SERVICE AREA LIST 

provided in the message. 

3.  Collision Case: 

•  At a Time, ASR5x00 allows One Load query for a particular service area. If one LOAD QUERY is in 

process then in that time frame other load queries are dropped for those service areas. 

•  If TCP connection is down then the response to be sent to CBC can be dropped. RESET message from 

CBC takes care of such situation. Other collisions are either taken care by HNB or by SABP timeout. 

 

The purpose of the Reset procedure is to end broadcasting in one or more Service Areas in the RNC. This procedure is 
also used by CBC in case of CBC recovery. Following figure and text points describe the RESET call procedure:
