Phone Basics



Air browse: Move between pictures, pages, or music tracks by moving your hand up and

down, or left and right, over the screen.



Air call-accept: Answer incoming calls by waving your hand over the screen.

● Air View: View useful information by hovering the S pen or a finger over the screen.



Information preview: Hover over items to display information previews, extended text, or

enlarged images, depending on the type of item.



Progress preview: Hover over a progress bar, such as for video playback, to display a

scene preview or elapsed playback time.



Speed dial preview: Hover over a speed dial to display the name of the contact assigned to

the speed dial.



Icon labels: Hover over an app icon to display the app name.



List scrolling: Hover over the edge of the screen to scroll up or down a list of items.



Link preview: Hover your S Pen over a link to preview the linked content.



Air menu: Hover your S Pen over the action button to attach or insert content, attach

contacts, or add recipients to a message.



Sound and haptic feedback: Play sound and vibrate when hovering your pen over Air view

items.

● Motions: Control your phone with natural movements.



Direct call: Call the contact whose call log, message, or contact details are currently on the

screen by bringing the phone close to your ear.



Smart alert: Set the phone to vibrate when you pick it up to notify you about missed calls and

messages.



Zoom: Zoom in or out of the screen when in Gallery or Internet.



Browse an image: Move around an image when zoomed in.



Mute/pause: Mute or pause sounds and video by covering the screen or turning over the

phone.

● Palm Motion: Capture a screen or mute or pause sounds by using the palm of your hand.



Capture screen: Capture an image of the screen when you swipe your hand left or right

across the screen.


