R600a is a natural gas that is operational under multiple circumstances. It is flammable, so take care not to 

damage any device of the chilling circuit when transporting and installing the appliance. 

 ꞏ  Refrigerant squirting out of the pipeline is flammable and can cause eye injury. In case of any leak, no 

naked fire or potential fire source is allowed, in addition to several minute ventilation of the room where the 

appliance is located. 

 ꞏ  To prevent generation of flammable gas when the chilling circuit leaks, the room size for placement of this 

appliance shall be determined according to the amount of refrigerant used. 

 ꞏ  Do not start the appliance when any sign of damage is displayed. Please consult your dealer in case of any 

questions. 

 ꞏ  One more cubic meter is required for any additional 8g of R600a refrigerant. 

 ꞏ  The dose of refrigerant is shown on the nameplate inside the refrigerator. 

 ꞏ  Make sure to protect the environment when you discard packing materials of the appliance.

 

 ꞏ Do not plug several appliances into the same multiple-functional socket.

 - Failure to do so leads to fire hazard. 

 ꞏ Avoid placing the power plug very close to the back of refrigerator so as to ensure that the power plug is not 

crushed or damaged. 

 - Broken power plug can cause fire due to overheating.

 ꞏ Do not allow water to splash or flow onto the refrigerator.

 ꞏ Do not place on power cord heavy articles or heat-generating appliances like microwave stove and electric 

cooker.

 - Failure to do so can cause electric shock hazard.

 ꞏ If you are going to dispose the fridge, remove the fridge door and seals before discarding it.

 - Doing so can prevent shutting kid inside the fridge.

 • Do not dismantle or repair the fridge personally. 

 - It can cause hazards like fire, fault or personal injury.

 • Do not replace the LED personally. If you do, please contact professional service personnel. 

 • The fridge must be grounded.

 - So as to prevent power loss or electric shock caused by current leakage. 

 ꞏ Never use gas pipe, phone line or other hidden lightning arrestor as grounding point.

 - Improper use of grounding plug may cause electric shock. 

 

 

• Do not store too much food in the fridge.

 - Food may fall out when you open the fridge door, causing hazards such as personal injury or material 

damage.

 ꞏ Do not place carbonated or fizzy drinks in the freezer compartment. Do not put bottles or glass containers in 

the freezer.

 - When the contents freeze, the glass may break and cause personal injury and property damage.

 ꞏ Plastic bottles or glass containers with a small volume should not be stored on bottle guard inside the fridge. 

 - As small plastic bottles are unstable on bottle guard and may fall easily. 

 ꞏ Do not pull the power cord to unplug the power plug.

 - Broken power cord can cause short circuit, fire or electric shock.

 - When the power cord is broken, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, approved service agent or qualified 

service personnel. 

 ꞏ Do not store articles on top of the fridge. 

 - The articles may fall and cause personal injury or material damage when you open or close the fridge door.

 ꞏ Do not store medicines, scientific research materials or other temperature- sensitive products inside the 

fridge.  

 - Check product label in order to assure which products can be refrigerated.

 ꞏ When you power on your fridge for the first time, wait until the fridge is chilling enough to put in food, and do 

not place food close to temperature sensor.

 - So as to avoid interfering correct display of temperature. 

 ꞏ Do not allow kids to play or climb the fridge. 

 - So as to avoid damaging the fridge or hurting the kids.

 ꞏ Do not touch the shelf evaporator inside the freezer with wet hands. 

 - So as to prevent water on your hands from icing and sticking your hands to the fridge interior, causing 

personal injury.

 ꞏ When gas is leaking, turn off the gas valve first and manage to exhaust and exchange indoor air. You must 

not unplug the power plug in the first place. 

 - So as to prevent the plug from sparking and causing unexpected accident.

 ꞏ After the power supply is off, wait at least five minutes before next power-on.

 - So as to avoid damaging the compressor.

 ꞏ Never strike or push the glass surface with great force.

 - Or broken glass may cause personal injury and/or property loss. 

 ꞏ Some fridge models have exterior protection film, which is used to prevent scratching the icebox during 

transportation. To avoid generation of static charges, please slowly rip off the protective film. If the film 

remained on the appliance for a long time, shade deviation of steel plate may be caused. 

 ꞏ Except the methods recommended by the manufacturer, mechanical devices or other methods shall not be 

used to accelerate the defrosting process. 

 ꞏ Do not damage the chilling circuit. 

 ꞏ Except for the types recommended by the manufacturer, do not use electric devices inside food storage 

chamber of the appliance. 

 ꞏ Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.

 ꞏ The appliance is not intended for use by persons(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or 

mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or 

instruction concer ning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

 ꞏ Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

 ꞏ This appliance is for household use and similar purposes, such as: 

 - Kitchen area in commercial stores, offices and other working premises;
 - Customers of farms and hotels, motels and living environment;
 - Environment of Family-inn style;
 - Catering industry and similar non-retail applications.

 • If you find strange noise, bad smell or smoke, immediately unplug the power plug and contact local 

Samsung Service Center. 

 • When you clean the plug, do not remove foreign substance from the pins of power plug with wet cloth.

 - There are scotching and fire hazards.

 • Do not put your hand in bottom area of the fridge. 

 - Sharp edges may cause bodily injury.

 • If the fridge is not used for a long period, the power plug should be unplugged.

 - Aged insulating material may cause fire.

 ꞏ In the event of a power failure, call the local office of your electric company and ask how long the failure is 

going to last.

 - Most power failures that are corrected in an hour or two will not affect your refrigerator temperatures. 

However, you should minimize the number of door openings while the power is off.

 - Should the power failure last more than 24 hours, remove and discard all frozen food.

 ꞏ There is no need to disconnect the refrigerator from the power supply if you will be away for less than three 

weeks. But, remove all the food if you are going away for the three weeks or more. Unplug the refrigerator 

and clean it, rinse and dry.

 ꞏ Please observe maximum storage times and expiry dates of frozen goods.

 ꞏ The appliance might not operate consistently (possibility of defrosting of contents or temperature becoming 

too warm in the frozen food compartment) when sited for an extended period of time below the cold end of 

the range of temperatures for which the refrigerating appliance is designed.

 ꞏ Do not store food which goes bad easily at low temperature, such as bananas.

 ꞏ Any increase in temperature of frozen food during defrosting can shorten its storage life.

 ꞏ Install the appliance in a cool, dry room with adequate ventilation. Ensure that it is not exposed to direct 

sunlight and never put it near a direct source of heat (a radiator, for example).

 ꞏ Allow warm food to cool down before placing it in the appliance.

 ꞏ Put frozen food in the refrigerator to thaw. You can then use the low temperatures of the frozen products to 

cool food in the refrigerator.

 ꞏ Do not keep the door of the refrigerator open for too long when putting food in or taking food out. The shorter 

the time the door is open, the less frost build-up you’ll have in the freezer.

 ꞏ It is recommended to install the refrigerator with clearance to the back and sides. This will help reduce power 

 ꞏ Confirm the sizes of your household door so as to make sure the refrigerator can pass through the door.  

 ꞏ Remove all packing assemblies, including internal tape and foams on both sides of glass shelves of the 

fridge, etc. 

 ꞏ Properly assemble the shelves for initial use by inserting the lugs on both sides into grooves on both sides of 

inner liner in order for perfect positioning.

 ꞏ The bottom padding foam of fridge must be removed for initial use.

 

 ꞏ The refrigerator should be placed on a hard, level ground. Uneven 

placement can cause noise and vibration. 

 ꞏ Placement on weak floor will strengthen the noise. 

 ꞏ Placement on carpet requires a solid backing plate, on which the 

refrigerator stands to prevent color change of the carpet caused by heat 

under the fridge or prevent the carpet from blocking heat dissipation. 

 ꞏ For level and stable placement of the refrigerator, the leveling leg must 

be pressed tightly against floor and the refrigerator is tilted slightly 

backward for easy shut of the door.

The refrigerator is ready for food storage after cooling for two to three 

hours. Now, the fridge starts working.

Operating Guide for Samsung Double-Door Refrigerator

Things to get ready before use 

Having gone through the following steps, the refrigerator is fully ready to use. If not, check power supply and 

power source. Please contact local Samsung Service Center in case of any doubts or questions. 

1. Install the shelves and containers dismantled for transportation to their correct positions. 

2. Clear the fridge, freezer and accessories. Clean up the dust built up during packing and shipping.  

3. When the refrigerator is connected to a power source, each opening of the fridge door will turn on 

the light inside the fridge.

4. Set temperature control to the lowest level and wait for an hour until the fridge is slightly chilled. 

The compressor will run smoothly at the moment and produce gentle hum. 

5. When internal temperature of the fridge is low enough, you can store food inside the fridge. But 

remember that it takes hours for temperature to reach a suitable level after the refrigerator is 
started. 

 

Check the range of voltage before connecting the fridge to power source. The cable and socket must be able to 

stand for current above 10A.

 ꞏ Press the “fridge” temp key to set temperature for the fridge.  

 ꞏ Temperature of the fridge is set as the following: 5ºC→ 4ºC→ 3ºC→ 1ºC→ 7ºC→ 5ºC.

 ꞏ If the fridge is not in Power Cool & Power Freeze state, press the “Power Cool & Power Freeze” key. The 

Power Cool & Power Freeze indicator light is on and the fridge enters Power Cool & Power Freeze state. 

 ꞏ The compressor starts and keeps running after “Power Cool & Power Freeze” mode is enabled. 

 ꞏ There are two ways to disable Power Cool & Power Freeze state:

Press the “Power Cool & Power Freeze” key to exit Power Cool & Power Freeze state; 

 

-

When the fridge reaches zero Celsius degree, the fridge automatically exits Power Cool & Power Freeze 

state. The “Power Cool & Power Freeze” indicator light goes off after the fridge exits the Power Cool & 

Power Freeze state. 

 ꞏ Keep pressing the “Control Lock” key for 3 seconds and the Control Lock indicator light on the display is on. 

Other keys except the Control Lock key are disabled. 

 ꞏ Keep pressing again the “Control Lock” key for 3 seconds under locked state, the Control Lock indicator light 

on the display goes off. All other keys are now enabled.

All indicators are on for 3 seconds after power-on. Temperature inside the fridge is then automatically set at 

5ºC. The display shows current temperature setting of the fridge. 

 

In case of any error in display, contact professional service person nel for repair in the first time.
