Screen is dark, audio 

and drive do not 

operate, but fan is 

running and LED is lit

1 Replace video cable.

2 Replace monitor. Refer to appropriate monitor manual to 

troubleshoot defective monitor.

3 Quadra 700: Replace VRAM SIMMs.

4 Macintosh IIcx/IIci: Make sure ROM jumper is on.

5 Remove NuBus cards.

6 Remove peripherals.

7 Replace SIMMs. 

8 Replace logic board. Retain customer’s SIMMs.

9 Replace power supply.
