Problem
Cause
Solution
The DVD receiver does not
operate properly.
The DVD receiver may receive a
strong electrical shock, such as from
a lightening bolt or excessive static
electricity, or drop in power supply.
Set the DVD receiver to the Standby mode,
then disconnect the power cable. Wait for
about 30 seconds, then connect the power
cable and turn on the DVD receiver.
A digital equipment or
high-frequency equipment
produces noises.
The DVD receiver may be placed
close to the digital equipment or
high-frequency equipment.
Place the DVD receiver further away from
such equipment.
Sound played on the DVD
receiver cannot be
recorded with an external
recorder.
You may be trying to make a digital
recording with an analog source.
Use proper audio sources.
The clock setting has
been cleared.
The power to the DVD receiver may
be lost more than a week.
Make sure the power cable is plugged into
outlet firmly, then set the clock again
(page 16).
Remote control
Problem
Cause
Solution
The remote control does not
work for operating the DVD
receiver.
The remote control may be operated
outside the remote control operation
range.
For information on the remote control
operation range, refer to “USING THE REMOTE CONTROL” (page 13).
The remote control sensor on the
DVD receiver may be exposed to
direct sunlight or lighting (inverted
fluorescent lamps).
Change the lighting or DVD receiver’s
orientation.
The remote control mode selection
may be improper.
Select the mode that suits your purpose
(page 5).
The batteries may be worn out.
Replace the batteries with new ones.
(page 13).
The remote control does not
work for operating TV.
The remote control code may be
incorrect.
Set the correct remote control code
(page 42). Depending on the model and
year of the product, the remote control
may not be able to operate it partly or
wholly. In this case, use the remote
control supplied for the product.
