HOW ESP

The ESP

®

/ALCI safety device in this unit is built into the plug. This device will

make it inoperable under some abnormal conditions, such as accidental
immersion in water. If the appliance is immersed in water, do not attempt to
reset the ESP

®

/ALCI safety device.

The ESP

®

/ALCI safety device is equipped with a test button so that its operation

can be checked.
TO USE (See Fig. A):
1. Press the Reset button on the ESP

®

/ALCI safety device.

2. Plug your unit into AC outlet, then press the Test button.
3. The Reset button will pop out. This verifies that the safety device is operating

properly. Should the Reset button not pop out, do not use the unit. Return
immediately for service.

4. Press the Reset button to reactivate the ESP

®

/ALCI safety device. Your hot air

brush is ready for use.

SPECIAL ATTENTION
• If the unit detects an electrical shock hazard, it will immediately shut off. To

restore power, press the Reset button on the ESP

®

/ALCI safety device to

reactivate the circuit.

• This appliance is designed with a protective coating around the heating coils.

When operating the first few times, you may notice momentary smoking when
turning unit Off. This represents no danger to the user and does not indicate a
defect in the unit. The smoke should dissipate within a short time.

• Never block the air intake grille, as this will cause the unit to overheat. Should

this happen, a built-in safety system will operate, and the unit will shut off
automatically. Turn the unit off and clear any obstruction from the air intake
grille. Wait 10 minutes before operating the appliance again. If the unit fails to
operate, it may indicate that the appliance has sustained extensive damage.
Do not try to repair it. See warranty for instructions.

• Never touch heating section as it may be hot and can burn you.
• To avoid possible scalp or hair burns, use very hot and fast setting only when

hair is wet. Reduce to lower heat as hair dries.

• To extend the life of the unit, it is recommended to switch it to the coolest

setting for a few seconds before shutting it off.

• Untwist the cord from time to time to avoid tangling.
USING YOUR HOT AIR BRUSH
This appliance functions as a dryer and styler to dry and style the hair at the
same time.
HEAT SETTINGS
This hot air brush has two heat settings, HIGH and LOW, plus a COOL setting.
• Use HIGH heat for normal easy-to curl and hard-to-curl hair.
• Use Low heat for hair that has been color-treated or is fragile or damaged.
• Use the COOL setting for finishing the style.
ATTACHMENTS
Both the hot air brush barrel and the air concentrator attach to the unit handle.
TO ATTACH HOT AIR BRUSH BARREL: Align the arrow on the brush barrel collar
with arrow on the unit handle. Gently push the brush barrel collar onto the unit
handle until it snaps into place.
TO ATTACH AIR CONCENTRATOR: Align the arrow on the air concentrator collar
with arrow on the unit handle. Gently push the air concentrator collar onto the
unit handle until it snaps into place.

TO RELEASE ATTACHMENTS: Press attachment release button and pull the
attachment away from the handle.
STYLING: Hair should be clean, dry or damp (never wet).
1. Make sure bristles are extended (rotate safety tip until bristles protrude

through the brush barrel).

2. Taking one section of hair at a time, roll hair in the direction of the curl desired,

and hold a few seconds. The safety tip is a great help in winding, as one hand
can be used on the handle and the fingers of the other on the safety tip.

3. When hair feels warm, curl is set; rotate the safety tip to retract the bristles

and release tangle-free curls, then gently pull toward ends of hair.

AIR CONCENTRATOR: Use the air concentrator when drying the hair to direct the
airflow to a specific area.
CAUTION: Barrel gets very hot while styler is in use. Do not let any part of heated
barrel touch bare skin on hands, face, neck, ears, or any other area.
IONIC GENERATOR: You can use this hot air brush with or without the benefit of
ions. 
To use the ionic-generating feature: Press the ionic conditioning button. Red light
illuminates indicating the ionic generator is in use. Negatively charged ions are
then released into the hair, making it healthier by smoothing the shaft to reduce
frizzy, fly-away hair. The ionic generator conditions the hair as it styles or dries.
This feature may be used with either the brush or air concentrator attachment.
To use without the ionic-generating feature: Make sure the ionic conditioning
button is OFF and the ionic indicator light is not illuminated.

This appliance is permanently lubricated and will not require additional lubrication
for the life of the unit.
TO CLEAN:
1. Unplug unit and allow to cool.
2. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe the surfaces. Do not allow water or any

other liquid to get into the unit.

3. Clean air intake grille with a small brush to remove lint or hair build up.
TO STORE:
• Unplug appliance, allow to cool, and store in its box or in a dry place.
• Never store it while it is hot or still plugged in.
• Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance.
• Never hang unit by the cord. Do not put any stress on the cord where it enters

the unit, as it could cause the cord to fray and break.

Before returning unit for service, make sure the air intake grille is free of lint and
hair. If it is not, clean with a small brush and try to operate the unit again.

PARA USAR (Vea la Fig. A):
1. Presione el botón de reinicio (Reset) en el dispositivo de seguridad.
2. Enchufe el artefacto a una toma de corriente ordinaria, luego presione el botón

de prueba (Test).

3. El botón de reinicio saltará. Esto verifica que el dispositivo de seguridad está

funcionando adecuadamente. Si el botón de reinicio no saltara, no use la
unidad; regrésela inmediatamente para servicio.

4. Siempre que use la unidad, oprima el botón de renicio del dispositivo de

seguridad para reactivarlo y asegurarse que esté funcionando
apropiadamente.

CUIDADO ESPECIAL

/ALCI para reactivar el circuito.

• La unidad ha sido diseñada con una capa de recubrimiento que protege las

resistencias de calor. Cuando opere el secador las primeras veces, usted
podría detectar la emisión de humo al apagar la unidad. Esto no representa
ningún peligro al usuario, como tampoco indica desperfecto en la unidad. El
humo se debería disipar en poco tiempo.

• A fin de evitar que el cepillo de aire caliente se caliente demasiado, no

obstruya las entradas de aire. En dado caso, un sistema de seguridad
incorporado se activará, y la unidad se apagará automáticamente. Apague el
interruptor y limpie toda obstrucción de la rejilla en la entrada de aire. Espere
10 minutos antes de encender la unidad nuevamente. Si el cepillo de aire
caliente no funciona, es posible que haya sostenido daño más serio. No trate
de repararlo. Consulte las instrucciones de la garantía.

• A fin de evitar quemaduras, no toque el sistema de calentamiento del cepillo de

aire caliente.

• Para evitar posibles quemaduras al cuero cabelludo o al cabello, use la

posición y la velocidad más caliente sólo cuando el cabello esté mojado.
Reduzca la temperatura a medida el cabello se vaya secando.

• A fin de prolongar la vida útil del cepillo de aire caliente, se recomienda

ajustarlo a la temperatura más fría por unos segundos antes de apagarlo.

• Desenrolle el cable de vez en cuando para evitar que se enrede.
COMO USAR SU CEPILLO DE AIRE CALIENTE
Este aparato funciona como un secador y estilizador para poder secar y peinar el
cabello al mismo tiempo. 
NIVELES DE TEMPERATURA
Este cepillo de aire caliente tiene dos graduaciones de temperatura, HIGH (alta) y
LOW (baja), además de la graduación COOL para aire frío.
• Utilice la temperatura alta para cabello normal fácil de rizar o para cabello

difícil de rizar. 

• Utilice la temperatura baja para el cabello teñido, delicado o maltratado. 
• Utilice la graduación fría para terminar el peinado.

ACCESORIOS
Tanto la barra del cepillo como el concentrador de aire se ajustan al mango de la
unidad.
INSTALACION DEL CEPILLO: Alinee la flecha del cuello de la barra del cepillo con
la flecha del mango de la unidad. Empuje uno dentro del otro con cuidado hasta
caer en su lugar.
INSTALACION DEL CONCENTRADOR DE AIRE: Alinee la flecha del cuello del
concentrador de aire con la flecha del mango de la unidad.  Empuje uno dentro
del otro con cuidado hasta caer en su lugar.
PARA DESENGANCHAR LOS ACESORIOS: Oprima el botón que suelta los
accesorios y retire el accesorio del mango.
PARA ESTILIZAR: El cabello debe estar limpio, seco o humedo (nunca mojado).
1. Asegúrese que las cerdas del cepillo estén afuera (gire la punta de seguridad

hasta que las cerdas salgan de la barra del cepillo).

2. Tome una sección de cabello a la vez, enróllela en la dirección que desea el

rizo, y sujétela así por unos segundos.

3. Para enrollar con mayor facilidad, sujete la punta de seguridad del cepillo con

una mano mientras enrolla el mango con la otra. Una vez que el cabello se
siente caliente y el rizo ha tomado forma, gire la punta de seguridad para
retraer las cerdas y soltar el cabello sin enredarlo. Luego, hale la unidad hacia
las puntas del cabello.

CONCENTRADOR DE AIRE: Al secar el cabello, utilice el concentrador para dirigir
el flujo de aire hacia una área específica del cabello.
PRECAUCION: La barra calienta mucho mientras se está usando. No deje que
ninguna parte de la barra caliente toque la piel de las manos, cara, cuello, orejas,
ni ninguna otra área.
GENERADOR IONICO: El cepillo de aire caliente puede usarse con o sin la ventaja
de iones.
Para usar el generador iónico: Oprima el botón para acondicionamiento iónico.
Se iluminará la luz roja para indicar que el generador se ha activado. Esto
produce la emisión de iones de carga negativa que alisa el cabello para lucir más
suave y más suelto. El generador iónico acondiciona el cabello mientras lo seca o
estiliza y puede usarse tanto con el cepillo como con el concentrador. 
Para usar sin el generador iónico: Asegúrese que el generador iónico esté
apagado y que la luz roja no esté encendida.

Este aparato se mantiene lubricado permanentemente y no necesita lubricación
adicional durante la vida de la unidad.
PARA LIMPIAR:
1. Desenchufe la unidad y deje que se enfríe.
2. Use un paño suave, ligeramente húmedo para limpiar la superficie del aparato.

No permita que entre agua o cualquier otro líquido en la unidad.

3. Limpie la rejilla de admisión con un cepillo pequeño para que esté libre de

acumulación de pelusas o pelos.

PARA GUARDAR:
• Desenchufe el aparato, déjelo que se enfríe y guárdelo en su caja o en un sitio

seco.

• Nunca lo guarde mientras esté caliente o enchufado.
• No enrolle ajustadamente el cable en la unidad.
• No la cuelgue nunca por el cable. No ponga presión sobre el cable en la parte

que entra en la unidad pues podría ocasionar que el cable se desgaste y se
rompa.

Antes de llevar la unidad para servicio, asegúrese de que la rejilla de admisión
esté libre de pelusas o pelos. De lo contrario, límpiela con un cepillo pequeño y
trate de hacer funcionar la unidad otra vez.
