Setting Explanation 
Retain original 
format 
Nero MediaHome will not check whether the client can 
display the desired file – instead the original format will be 
retained. 
Auto-detect 
Nero MediaHome checks whether the client can 
reproduce the format before transferring the file. If this is 
the case, the original format will be preserved. If the client
cannot play the file, Nero MediaHome will transcode the 
file into the format with the best quality. 
MPEG-1 
Each file will be transcoded into the target format if it is not 
available in the desired format. 
MPEG-1 (low bit 
rate) 
Each file will be transcoded into the target format if it is not
available in the desired format. 
MPEG-2 
Each file will be transcoded into the target format if it is not
available in the desired format. 
MPEG-1 (high bit 
rate) 
Each file will be transcoded into the target format if it is not
available in the desired format. 
MPEG-2 (low bit 
rate) 
Each file will be transcoded into the target format if it is not
available in the desired format. 
Nero Digital / 
MPEG-4 
Each file will be transcoded into the target format if it is not
available in the desired format.
