Self-timer
When the self-timer is set, the camera automatically takes a shot after 10 or 2 seconds,
according to your preference. This allows you to get into the scene when taking group
images.
The setting is canceled after the power is turned OFF manually or by the auto power OFF.
1. Rotate the mode dial to [
 ] automatic photography
mode, [
] manual photography mode or [
  ]
movie mode.
2.  Press the
   self-timer button.
3. Compose your image, press the shutter button down
halfway to set the focus and exposure and then press
the shutter fully down to capture the image.
The front LED will blink, and the images is taken af-
ter the preset time (either 2 or 10 seconds) has
elapsed.
A countdown timers displays on the screen.
To cancel the self-timer during countdown, press the
 button.
After a shot is taken using the self-timer, the self-timer is turned to OFF.
Using the self-timer with the two-second delay [
 ] ( on a tripod)is an effective way
eliminate the potential for image blur attributable to user-motion ( hand motion or shutter
impact.)
