cell phones are connected to Bacup using a matching cable. If Bacup is connected to a non-
supported cell phone, or if the wrong data cable is used, the cell phone may restart itself, hang
or even be damaged, resulting in the loss of data. Supported cell phone and cable models are

Only qualified and authorized service agents may handle the repair of this device. Do not try to
disassemble or fix Bacup yourself, as you could damage Bacup and lose saved information.

This product is not waterproof; please use it under dry conditions only.

This product is a common indoor electronic device and can be damaged under certain
conditions, including the following: exposure to direct sunlight for long periods of time,
exposure to extremely high/low temperatures, dropping of Bacup or hard impact against heavy
items.

Getting Connected

to the cell phone

Bacup has the capability to back up the contacts

from the SIM card and the cell phone as well as restore the contacts on the cell phone. Bacup
supports specific cell phone models only (please see the list of supported cell phone models in
the file with the name of "support.lst" after you connect Bacup to PC as a removable disk).
Regular updates on our products and supported new phone models can be found on our
website

If your phone is one of our supported phone models but Bacup is not working properly, please

check that you have the right cable and that it is properly connected.

If your cell phone model is not on our supported list and would recommend that we support it,

please contact us; our engineers will do their best to cater to your request. Please be advised
that we cannot promise to deliver our service on every phone model because of the limited
functionality of some phone models.

While acting as a charger for the cell phone,

When Bacup charges your phone, it can automatically back up your contacts from the SIM

card and your cell phone to the internal storage of Bacup. Instructions are as follow:

1. Switch the black button of Bacup to the back-up mode

2. Connect one end of the cable to the USB port and the other end of the cable to the cell

phone

3. Plug Bacup into the power outlet. Now, the power indicator should light up in red and the

back-up process indicator in green. Wait several seconds until the green light blinks, indicating
that the data channel between Bacup and your cell phone has been established. Bacup is now
backing up your data and charging the cell phone.

4. After the backup is completed, the back-up indicator will stay lighted and stop blinking.

Bacup will then continue to charge the cell phone.

a) The speed of data backup is related to the data transfer rate of the cell phone, and the length of the contact list

on your cell phone and SIM card. Hence, different cell phones can take different lengths of time to complete the back-
up. Usually, under normal conditions, the process takes a few minutes.

b) Bacup can only back up data when the phone is turned on.

c) If the green light does not flash at all, please refer to our FAQ section.

d) If you need to use the phone and wish to disconnect the phone, you may do so at any time. Bacup will continue

the back-up when you next plug in the phone.

e) The storage capacity of Bacup is limited (see data capacity in Features and Specifications). Hence, while you can

use Bacup as a removable disk, please always ensure sufficient space for data back-up.

To maximize the protection of our users' data, we have 2 modes for

you on how you may wish to restore your data to the cell phone:

Data Restoration

1)

will compare your contacts in your cell phone with the one on

Bacup. Contacts in Bacup that do not exist in your phone will be added to the phone.
Incremental mode is relatively safe because it only adds data to the phone and does not erase
any data. The process takes longer time.

2)

will erase all your contacts in the cell phone and then copy the contacts in

Bacup to your cell phone.

1.Switch the function switch to data-restore mode.

2.Plug one end of the cable to the USB main port and connect the other end to your cell

phone.

3.The power indicator will light up in red and the data-restore indicator in yellow. Wait for

several seconds until the red and the yellow lights both blink slowly to indicate that Bacup is
ready to accept the user's confirmation.

4.Press the button briefly. The red light will cease blinking and stay on, while the yellow light

will start blinking to indicate that the data restore process is underway between Bacup and the
cell phone while charging.

5.The yellow light will stop blinking and stay on when the restore process is completed.

Bacup will continue to charge the phone.

The deletion of all the information on your cell phone in the clear-up mode is irreversible. Please use this function

with caution.

1. Incremental Restore Mode

a) Incremental data restore can only occur when the cell phone is turned on.

b) If the yellow light does not blink or flash at all, please refer to the our FAQ Section.

c) If you need to use the phone and wish to disconnect Bacup from your cell phone, you may do so at any time.

However, after use, you have to follow the above steps to restart the back-up process.

d) Please ensure that there is enough space in your cell phone before you start the restoration process. That's

because some cell phones have limited contact storage capacity, which will make it impossible to add new contact to
your cell phone if there is not enough space for it.

e) When disconnecting Bacup from your cell phone and/or the power outlet, please remember to put the function

switch back on the back-up mode. Because the portable charging function shares the same switch as the data-restore
function, leaving the switch on the data-restore mode will eventually deplete the battery completely over time.

the button and the red light would blink slowly and the yellow light would blink quickly (Note:
this process involves clearing up all the data in the cell phone and then write back )

3.Connecting to the PC as a Removable Disk

a) Check the switch; b) Insert into the PC's USB port.

4.Connecting to the PC as a Card Reader

a) Check the switch; b) Insert SD/MMC card;

c) Insert into the PC's USB port.

a) Check the switch; b) Connect to the cell phone;

c) Confirm the indicator light.

6.Bacup Encryption

a) Add a contact with the name of "ENCODE" and your password as the phone number;
b) Back up your data.

7.Bacup Decryption

a) Add a contact with the name of "DECODE" and your password as the phone number;
b) Back up your data.

8.Online Update

a) Connect Bacup to PC as a removable disk (named "MRTECH"), and double click the file named

"SUPPORT" under the root directory to link Bacup to our website;

b) Select the pack of the same model as your phone, download it to the root directory of Bacup;
c) Safely remove Bacup from PC.
