Chapter 4. Power Management
This chapter describes how to adjust screen brightness, apply and change 
power schemes.
Adjusting screen brightness

You can adjust screen brightness to improve readability or to preserve 
battery power. To adjust brightness, press the Function button, and tap

. The brighter you set, the more power is consumed. Set a 
brightness level that makes your eyes feel comfortable.
Applying power schemes

A power scheme includes a collection of predefined settings that will turn off 
the screen backlight, and put the computer into sleep or hibernation after a 
period of user inactivity. You can apply one of the following predefined 
power schemes:
• Energy Star
• High Performance
• Balanced
• Super Energy Saver
The default power scheme is Energy Star.
To apply a power scheme, do the following:
1 Tap the Energy Management icon in the notification area of Windows.
2 On the main panel, apply a power scheme by tapping its icon.
Changing detailed settings of a power scheme

You can view and change detailed settings of each power scheme. To do this, 
follow the steps below:
1 Tap the Energy Management icon in the notification area of Windows.
2 On the main panel, tap the Details button 
 . You can then view and 
change detailed settings of the current power scheme.
To reduce waste of energy, Lenovo recommends that the sleep mode be set to 
activate within 30 minutes of user inactivity.
Note:
 Detailed settings are categorized into two usage scenarios: when the tablet is running 
on AC power and when it is running on battery.
