Turn the Volume knob on the right side of the unit up to raise the 
volume or down to lower it. 

From the Menu page, touch 

 to adjust the backlight 

brightness. Touch   to lower the brightness and   to raise it. 
Touch 

 when you are done. 

•  To quickly return to the Menu 

page, press and hold

•  To extend the battery life, 

turn off GPS when you do not 
need to receive GPS signals.
