RUN THE SYSTEM TEST
The System Test runs a basic diagnostics check on your DVR.
First make sure that:
All connections — jacks, cables, etc. — are in place correctly. See Appendix 2, “Connections for TV and Equipment” for
more information.
Remote control has working batteries.
The access card is inserted in the DIRECTV

Receiver.
Then follow these steps:
Turn on your TV and the DVR (if you have the Universal Remote, slide the MODE switch to DIRECTV position).
Press MENU, then select Settings & Help.
Press MENU, then select Settings & Help.
Select Settings then Info & Test.
Select Run System Test.
If your system does not pass the System Test, check any of these potential trouble areas: cabling, satellite dish position,

If you continue to have problems, call DIRECTV Customer Service at 1.800.531.5000.
NOTE: Occasional fluctuations in the phone line or satellite signal can give temporary false readings, therefore we recommend
running a system test several times before concluding there is a problem.
