Manager Advanced Edition first provisions the HPC environment, and then the user

connects to the provisioned HPC technology to run their workloads. The cluster

manager is also used to manage the running HPC environment and tear it down

when it is no longer needed.

Among the HPC products that Platform Cluster Manager Advanced Edition can deploy

are:

• IBM Platform LSF®
• IBM Platform Symphony

• Most third-party workload managers (for example, SGE, PBS, and Hadoop)

Platform Cluster Manager Advanced Edition is required when you need:

• To run multiple heterogeneous HPC technologies (cluster and grids) on a common

clusters and Platform Symphony grids. This includes almost any combination of

IBM and third-party workload mangers.
