Introduction
This document describes the various Universal Frame Relay Module (UFM) front and back cards, and
identifies the appropriate cables to use with the different back cards. The UFM series is a set of high−density,
high−performance Frame Relay modules for Cisco IGX 8410, IGX 8420, and IGX 8430 wide−area switches.
The UFM delivers standards−compliant User Network and Network−to−Network (UNI/NNI) interfaces with
high port and connection density at a lower per−port cost for both enterprise customers and service providers.
Two versions of UFM card sets exit:
Channelized (UFM−C)
•
Unchannelized (UFM−U)
•
